"I loathe the bus. There has to be a more dignified mode of transportation."

I adore the '80s. Probably because I didn't grow up during them. I don't consider only having been alive for 5 years of a decade really 'growing up'. Anyway, I absolutely adore '80s cult movies. I think that this love was fostered by my mom's little sister Melissa, who was 17 when I was born and a total '80s child. Sixteen Candles is probably my most favorite. I will always have a deep and abiding love for Jake Ryan, he's kind of perfect.
How can you beat the awkward Molly Ringwald (Sam) staring longingly over her shoulder at Michael Schoeffling (Jake) during study hall? Anthony Michael Hall as the Geek, attempting to drive Jake's dad's Rolls Royce with the plastered Prom queen in the front seat? The Chinese foreign exchange student following Sam all over the place? It's all classic. In my own, personal, completely unbiased opinion, John Hughes was an absolute genius. I'm serious.
