The Miracle of The Textbook...

Miracles come in all shapes and sizes. They usually come when we are least expecting it and in ways that you never expect, that's what makes them so special. Let me tell you about my miracle today. I've been so worried about a textbook for one of my classes. The professor gives us a quiz every Tuesday at the beginning of class based on the reading of a 50 page chapter that we are to read over the weekend. That really wouldn't be a problem for me, I don't mind quizzes all the much and I don't mind doing my reading most of the time EXCEPT for the fact that I don't have the book. That's right. Well, this book is $120. For a BOOK. I know right, don't pass out. So today in class the professor told me that he's not going to put the book on reserve in the library which was my last hope for passing the class. I was ready to cry. I gathered my stuff up after class, all ready to go to my Isaiah class. As I'm walking out the door, I notice that Jordan is waiting for me. Jordan is a girl who sits next to me in Geography and we have the same major. We've talked a couple of time, but we're not super super good friends or anything. I wave and start to walk away and she stops me saying that she has a question for me. I pause and ask, "Sure, what's up?"
J: "Do you need a text book?"
M:"Well yeah, I've been using Erin's but it's not working out so well."
J: "Well, you see, I have extra grant money and they're going to take it away October 16th, and my text books are almost $300 less then I thought they would be, can I buy that book for you? I was sitting in class today and all I could think of, after he told you that he won't put the book on reserve is 'She has to have a book'."
M: "You're kidding. How did that happen? Are you sure? I mean, that's a lot of money."
J: "Please just let me, the money will just go to waste if I don't."
M: "Yeah, sure. You are my angel, you really have no idea how long I've been worried about this."
J: "It's nothing really."
I almost cried again. Can you believe that? It is so true that the Lord always watches out for us, but it usually through another person that he meets our needs. I am forever grateful to one person who took the time and had the thought to help someone else. Miracles are everywhere, we just have to be ready to receive what the Lord has for us.
