So I don't believe in reincarnation...

but if I did, I'd want to be reincarnated as an Indian. No. Not a Native American. An INDIAN. As in someone from India. (Quit your laughing.) I'm fairly certain that you don't get to choose what your incarnation is when you're reborn, but that's beside the point. We're suspending reality here. And I beg you not to make an attempt to bring me back. I don't want to live in reality right now. Anyway, I made this decision a while ago, upon my fist viewing of the fantastical Bollywood (or Hindi Cinema depending on who you are) movie
Jab We Met.
This, darlings, was not my first Bollywood movie.
That honor went to Dhoom 2; but I didn't actually fall madly in love with the Indian culture until Jab We Met so that is where we will begin our tale. If the beautiful language, bright colors, spontaneous musical numbers and awesomely predictable plot lines weren't enough to reel me in there was this guy:
(I know, right?!) Sigh.
I had a highly skilled guide to aid me on my journey into the delightful and delicious world of Bollywood. Who might that be, you ask? Megan, the DVD pusher, of course. (No. She's my guide. You can't have her. I don't share well.) In her knowledge and brilliance, she next introduced me to this fantastic movie:
Go and watch it immediately. You can thank me later. After that it was all over. Basically, I'll never be content with being American again. Forget the spy stuff, my new life goal is to be Indian. I'm hoping that by sheer will power I can change the pigmentation of my skin....
Oh and for your viewing pleasure, I'm adding a video of my all time favorite Bollywood number. It's from
Dil Bole Hadippa!,
which stars Shahid Kapur (the handsome guy in the picture above) and
Rani Mukherjee (my most favorite Bollywood actress).
