...when I'm working with my athletes at the tutoring center, I wonder if they're going to be famous. I sometimes wonder if I'm going to get to point to the screen one day and be like, "Yeah, I'm a big deal. I used to tutor (insert name of student here) in history."
...I check Facebook 800 times a day. No exaggeration.
...(speaking of Facebook) I feel like mysteriously changing my relationship status to widowed or in an open relationship, just to see what people would say.
...when I'm on the train on the way to school, I make up stories about the people sitting around me.
...I do the same thing when I'm shopping.
...I quote TV shows and movies right along with the characters...while I'm watching. This sometimes (read: all the time) drives KMJ crazy.
...I feel like just hopping on a plane to anywhere and, Amazing Race style, trying to get myself back home.
...my family answers the phone in a bad Spanish accent when I call home. And I love it.
...my mom calls my dad Guido Sarducci. No joke. She also calls my friend's boyfriend Alfanzo because she can't remember his name. It makes me giggle every single time, without fail.
...my little brother Mckay quotes movies. If you go up to him and say, "Just one kiss?" He will immediately respond, "Unless you beg for more!" and lean in to kiss you.
...I loose my driver's license. I (might) have done this about 4 months ago and I (might) have neglected to get another..just maybe.
...when I talk to my brother Max, he says "To you." Which is part of a Beetles song that we sing to each other. Whit and I have our own song. Kylee and I have songs too.
...I wonder if people ever get tired of reading my random blog posts. Then I remember that if they didn't want to read, they wouldn't end up on my blog and then I feel better.
...who drives with the windows down and the music on full blast. She talks too much, sleeps too little, and has a plethora of random thoughts to share. It will rarely have anything to do with anything, and will often mention chocolate chip cookies, so be warned. Don't be disappointed by the constant sarcasm or bad spelling, big words or historical references, the author enjoys all of the above. Oh and she really really really loves comments. Really.

Taking One for the Team...
Settle in my friends, because I have a story for you. It is a tale of two best friends and the things that they'll do for one another. This is one of my very best friend's in the whole world, and there are very few things that I wouldn't do for her. This commitment was tested tonight in the following situation. Read.
On my way home from work, I received a phone call from an incredibly chipper Ms. Jones wondering what my plans were for the evening. Having none, I was thus invited to join KMJ, a friend of hers and a friend of the friend's for a last minute date. I rarely say no to free dinner, and even though it went against my rule of not accepting a date when asked the same day, I figured that it was more important that KMJ get a little time in with this friend then for me to adhere to my afore mentioned rule. Anyway, the boys had a new bed for KMJ's apartment (she's been sleeping on a queen sized air mattress for 2 months...) and afterwards we were all going to go out to dinner. Pretty harmless, right? That's what I thought. Well, it turns out that this bed is a water bed, which is pretty cool because now bouncing on KMJ's bed while I'm bored at her house (the lack of TV leaves me agitated sometimes) is going to be much more entertaining. Well you see, dear readers, water beds have to be filled. This, apparently, takes hours. Unbeknownst to us. Turns out, the friend of the friend isn't... well, to put it kindly, isn't my type. Not that I'm looking for tall, dark and handsome (especially because I'm short, blond and talk too much) and I don't really have a set type, but I can tell you what it's not. It's not: a guy who turns everything into a dirty comment, doesn't listen to anything anyone else says but insists on making everyone listen to what he says, starts sentences but refuses to finish them so as to annoy everyone else around him, looks through all the stuff in my car (yes, friends, I ended up driving. My gas light was on, as KMJ is a freak about being on time and I was in a hurry to get there no gas was purchased, and he made mention of it more than once)... There's more but I highly doubt you really want to hear it all. I'm fairly sure that by the end of the night that the particularly chatty kid who sat next to me on Trax today during my lunch break knew more about my life than the human I'd spent the last 4 hours of my life with. On the upside, KMJ and friend had an excellent time. And the whole experience gave me something to blog about, so all in all, how could that turn out to be a bad thing? I submit that it is not!

My Thoughts on Aaron Carter and his Dancing with the Stars Career...
So. My darling roommate Karlie has this obsession with reality TV and this obsession has been passed on to me. I ADORE mocking people and reality TV gives me the express ability to do so on a regular basis from the comfort of my own bed, without directly offending anyone. Anyway, in my new found love, I've discovered Dancing with the Stars and it basically makes my life a better place. Watching people, who for the most part, have no dancing ability whatsoever wear sequined costumes and attempt to do the jive? Yes please! It's a mock fest of epic proportions. This brings me to the title of my post. Aaron Carter, the much younger and less attractive brother of Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame, has been shakin' his thing of my favorite Monday night reality show this season. This boy (and I can him a boy for a reason) takes his part in this competition WAY too seriously. I mean, the poor child looks like he's about ready to cry when the judges insult him. I have a feeling that this is a direct result of the fact that he's a washed up-living-in-the-shadow-of-his-older-brother-hasn't-produced-a-song-since-I-was-in-junior-high-performer. I also think that he sees himself as having a lasting career in ballroom dancing, since his music career hit the skids before it even started. Honestly, he's not that bad of a dancer, but I'm quite positive that his self worth and basically, his life will be over if he looses this competition. I can't wait to watch him cry when he gets kicked off. (Now you must imagine me with an evil grin...)

The Weekend Update...
Yes. That is a completely obvious and blatant reference to Seth Myers and Saturday Night Live. I won't lie to you. Anyway. It is Sunday night, so this isn't much of a weekend update, but I liked the title. My weekend completely lived up to all and any expectations. There were naps. There was a temple trip. And yes, my friends, there was even a little Shia LaBeouf (via Transformers and Disturbia) in my weekend. Looking back on it, I'd call it a success. My team even won...Which almost didn't happen. I need to have a talk with those Ute football players. Almost losing to Air Force is UNACCEPTABLE. (Though I'm positive that Coach Whitt is a whole lot scarier than I am, so maybe I'll let him give them the talking to and I'll just stand behind him and nod, with my arms folded across my chest and a scowl on my face). There were even a few unexpected surprises some of which included: dinner at my aunt's house, a movie night with girls in my ward and a visit from a friend who lives in Orem. All in all, I'm sad to see my weekend ebb away and my week begin again...that is until I remember that I get to go to Karlie's class and help out with their Halloween parade. I even get to dress up. If you haven't read Percy Jackson you will have no idea who I am though. And that means that you're not cool and you misread the requirements of being my friend. Better jump on that one.

A Whole Bunch of Amazingness...
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! Do I have things to tell you! Let's start with our amazing ward activity on Saturday night. We had a murder mystery dinner, set in a speakeasy in the 1920s. I was a gangster and Karlie was a flapper. I owned a brewery (shocking, I know) and I sold my liquor to her...it was pretty much amazing. We had a blast dressing up and playing the part...

Everyone thought that I was the killer, which was kinda fun to play up, even though it didn't end up being me. We're thinking that we're just going to keep the same costumes for Halloween next week...I mean come on, how often does a girl get the chance to wear a leopard print fedora? Exactly my point. :)
Sunday Karlie and I headed down to Pleasant Grove for Max's birthday dinner. Going home is always fun, but this weekend was especially great because not only were we celebrating Max's 14th birthday (can you believe that? 14! Wow, that makes me old...) but my dad got a new job! He's working as a paralegal at a small law office in downtown Pleasant Grove and he loves it. So there was all sorts of excitingness going on at the Mecham house.
To make the week even better, I got my test scores back for the midterms I took just before break... And for the most part it was good news....except for one class. Just so you all know, I'm not infallible, I received my first ever D+ this week. That's right, there's no typo there. But fortunately I don't have to worry about getting a bad grade in the class because I got an A on a paper in the same class and extra credit is my new best friend. :)
To end this insanely long post, I'm going to tell you all really quickly about the opportunity that Karlie and I had to clean the Salt Lake temple last night. Our ward had a cleaning assignment from 9:45 to 12...at night. We both decided to suck it up and go, figuring that at the very least we'd be happy to do some service. Well, I'm here to tell you that the Lord blesses us in ways that we never could have imagined. Not only was it neat to be able to serve in the temple and see rooms that I've never seen before, our sweet temple worker (who was from the Dominican Republic and spoke Spanish to me!) took us downstairs, underneath the temple. I was able to see and touch some of the original floor plans of the Salt Lake temple. How sweet is that?! I loved it!
Well, thanks to all who actually read this whole post...I know it was long. I hope that everyone else has all kinds of amazingness going on as well!!

Some things I just have a feeling that you'll all want to know...
I love cloudy days. It makes me so happy to wake up to a sky full of grey clouds because usually that means rain, and let's be honest. I love rain.
Today was one of those good hair days, where even the wind made my hair look better. You gotta love that.
I had an uncontrollable grin on my face when I walked out of my first class and saw the ground outside of OSH covered in fall leaves.
The only reason I love my American Religions class is that I get to spend 1.5 hours staring at the back of this really cute kid's head. Now if I could just find a way to talk to him, then I'd be ecstatic.
It smells like fall today. What could be better then that?
I love fall because I finally got to wear my favorite U of U sweater that I got for working at the stadium.
Today is a tutoring day. This means I get to go to Karlie's classroom for a little while and teach Maria.
Not that any of those things are super important, but they made me happy, so I thought I'd share...

Long Weekends Rock My Socks Off...
This weekend was absolutely fabulous. It all started on Friday night when Karlie and I decided to have a hot boys movie marathon. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely array of gentlemen we gathered at our new favorite movie renting gallery, Hollywood Video on 4th south. Saturday was a full football day, which let's be honest Karlie and I didn't mind at all. After BYU's upset, we headed back over to our movie mecca with Lindsey and found a nice thriller collection: Enough and Disturbia. We thoroughly scared ourselves before going to bed. One of our most fabulous ideas yet, if I do say so myself. Sunday brought church and an AMAZING dinner at my parents house, followed by a deliciously scary viewing of Disturbia. I was lucky enough to spend Monday morning with Aubrie and Corey in Provo, eating amazing zucchini bread and pineapple. I also go lucky enough to see Jalayne and Shelisa for a minute, and they almost made me want to move back to Provo. After a little bit of studying, Karlie and I hit Cafe Rio for dinner where we were joined by my friend Cam, who finally made it back from Canada. All in all, it was an incredibly successful weekend.

Last Few Lazy Days...
So if you know me, you know I love school. I love to take as many credits as I possibly can because part of me loves that manic feeling of wondering if I can actually get it all done. There's a thrill in looking at my class schedule and realizing that I will spend more time studying then I will sleeping. Half way through the semester I always have a moment where I wonder what in heaven's name I got myself into and I always forget that moment when it's time to sign up for classes again. Anyway, this was my last weekend before school starts on Monday and so I decided to live it up...in the laziest way possible. I cleaned my room and the bathroom yesterday morning, but after a couple of hours of cleaning I watched hours of trashy TV, made pizza with Karlie, watched the Hannah Montana movie (DON'T JUDGE) and ate some chocolate. Today has been a little more of the same, and while I do feel as though I've not accomplished anything I keep reminding myself that after Monday my days to be lazy will be in short supply if they exist at all. Don't get me wrong, I adore school with all my heart, I was just reveling in the last few lazy days of summer...

Life without the internet...
Just so you know...life without the internet sucks. Hence the lack of updates on my fabulous life. Don't worry. Karlie and I ordered it today. Updates and pictures to come. I know you're all waiting with baited breath.

24 Great Things About Turning 24...
1. Megan and Keisha decorated my door with all the things they love about me. It was adorable and made m
e feel loved.
2. Mom had her preschool class call and sing me happy birthday. I go and help out there once a week or so and they know me. They were all so excited to sing, it made my day.
3. Chels made me Nauvoo syrup and pancakes for breakfast. Can you say spectacular?
4. Karlie called me from Georgia and we talked.
5. I got to wear a crown and no one could make fun of me because it was MY birthday.
6. Sharing my birthday party with Jalayne was one of our best ideas ever, she makes everything more fun, even when she has a cold.
7. I had an excuse to get all my friends together to party!
8. I went home for my traditional Argentine dinner on Sunday and it was just as amazing as last year. My parents rock at feeding all the many friends I bring home.
9. I don't have to declare myself a dependent on anything anymore because I am FINALLY a real adult (as per federal student aid).
10. My car insurance goes down.
11. 24 has always been my favorite number.
12. I'm going to graduate from college while I'm 24
13. I got to eat this cake and it was even better then it looks in the picture(if that's even possible.)
14. I got to spend all weekend sleeping on my mattress in the living room. Now to most of you this would seem like a silly idea because why pull your mattress into the living room when you have a perfectly good bedroom to sleep in, but let's be honest. There is no TV in my bedroom. No TV means no birthday Gilmore Girls and that would be a tragedy.
15. Whitney was here with me all day on Monday. I love having her come to visit me.
16. 24 feels different from 23. I know that sound odd, but it does. I like feeling 24.
17. My ag
e is also a TV show. Cool, no?
18. My friends all know me so well that each of them gave me something different for my birthday that I wanted.
19. Thanks to Chels and Jordan, I finally own an apron. I've been wanting one for a really really long time.
20. At work they bought me bagels from Einstein's. I love Einstein's cinnamon and sugar bagels. They make me happy. :)
21. I realized how lucky I am to have the friends I do. I have been so blessed to be surrounded by good people who help me to see how much the Lord loves me.
22. Even though I know she hates talking on the phone, Aubie still called to wish me a happy birthday.
23. I had an excuse to eat an insane amount of chocolate.
and last but not least...
24. My friend Jen tells me that 24 is the hot age... what do you think?
